There is usually one or two songs that stand out and make me want to play them on repeat. One of the best parts of watching Kdramas is listening to the OST. Also, the writer did a poor job of explaining why Ma Dae Young and Kang Seo Hee (Heo Joon Jae’s stepmother) became so evil. The villains were not really scary and their plan pretty mediocre. To be honest, this series could have easily been a 16 to 18 episode drama and nothing would have been lost.Ī lot of the scenes focused on the villains but did not add much to the plotline. However many times, I felt that the story was dragging and I was tempted to fast forward through some scenes. The concept for the show was really good you get to learn a lot about mermaid folklore. Lee Hee Joon was great and kept me focused on his character almost util the end. I enjoyed Jun Ji Hyun’s scenes with the beggar played by Hong Jin Kyung and Yoo Na played by Shin Rin Ah. The other actors did really well and help enrich the show. If you have already seen My Love from Another Star, you will understand what I mean. Don’t get me wrong, they had good chemistry, but some of the romantic scenes were a little off. Like I said, having Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji Hyun as the leads, I was expecting fireworks when it comes to their chemistry. What more can a girl ask for? So did it live up to my expectations? Yes and no. To top it all off, the main leads are Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji Hyun. It is a solid fantasy drama but it also has a little bit of everything: Romance, comedy, and even some action scenes. When I first heard about The Legend of the Blue Sea story, I thought to myself this is the kind of Kdramas I live for and I fully expected to fall love in love with it.
